Train to Busan

This is a new staple added into a list of good zombie movies to watch. It's fun, fast and different. This man Seok-Woo (Gong Yoo) is so focused on his work that he neglects his daughter, even though he knows she's the best thing that could have ever happened to him. It's his daughter's birthday and all Soo-An (Kim So-Ahn) wants is to go visit her mother. Seok-Woo tells her that he can't take her right now to see her mother because he is so busy with work, but he tells her that he can take her another time. Soo-An tells her father that she is old enough to take the train by herself. Seok-Woo decides to take her by train to see her mother before going back to work for the rest of the day. It's just too bad there's an outbreak going on and an infected woman makes her way on the train.

As you can guess, the infected woman spreads the virus and a lot of people get bit, so they try to block off access to other parts of the train. The plan is to go to another station and find a safe zone to go to, but the infection has spread too quickly. There's also people who want to save themselves and don't care about putting other people in danger.

You have people that don't know each other band together and they don't fully know what's going on or what to do. Every step they take to try to get to safety is dangerous and some steps are dead ends. The infection spreads quick and the zombies run quicker. A balance to the madness is Seok-Woo and his little girl bonding. At the same time, they're spending time with a couple, Sang-Hwa and Sung Gyeong (Ma Dong-Seok and Jung Yu-mi), who's expecting a child. The men don't trust each other initially, but they have to learn to have each other's backs. There's also a whole baseball team and two elderly sisters, who look out for each other.

You get to see why people react the way they do to certain situations. It might even make you wonder how you would react. If you're looking for another good zombie movie with good pacing and lots of action, this is it. There is a tiny bit of a South Korean soap opera feel at the end, but it works and it's worth it. This movie is available on Netflix and rental services such as Google Play.
